Printing and Exporting

Q: How can I print the questions in a testbank (TestGen 5.5)?

A: To print all the questions for a single chapter, open the testbank
and select the title of the chapter you want to print. Then select
"Print" from the File menu and choose "Print selected items." To print
a range of chapters, select "Print" from the File menu and enter the
numbers for the range of chapters. Note that questions will print in
the same way they are displayed on screen, so be sure to display
answers and descriptors as needed.

Working Across Platforms (Win and Mac)

Q: I was using TestGen on a Macintosh, but now I have a Windows PC. Can I move the tests and testbanks from my Macintosh to my Windows PC?

A: Yes. Tes (.tst) and testbank (.bok) files created with the Macintosh version of TestGen can be opened and read with the Windows verion of TestGen, assuming the version number of TestGen is the same or higher on the Windows PC.

Q: What should I do if I forget my password?

A: On the password entry dialog, click the Hint button. If you entered a hint when originally created your password, the hint should help you remember your password. If the hint does not help, click the Forgot it button and write down the code the program displays. If you are using a Pearson Education product, contact Pearson Product Support, give them the password code, and they will retrieve your password. (Tip: Once you find out the password, write it down in a safe place.)

General Questions

Q: Can I use old TestGen testbanks and tests with new versions of TestGen?

A: Yes. When you install TestGen, you can open testbanks and tests that were created with earlier versions of the TestGen program. Old testbanks and tests are automatically converted to work with the new TestGen program. (Note: Once you convert a testbank or test to work with a newer version of the program, you cannot open it again later with an older version of the program.)
