Inserting Instructions

I like to use a combination of multiple-choice questions and open-ended questions on my tests. I group the questions so all the multiple-choice questions come first, and all the open-ended questions come at the end of the test.

I would like to insert some instructions between the multiple choice questions and the open-ended questions. I've looked around the menus of TestGen 7.4, which is what I have installed on my Windows machine, but I can't seem to find any way to insert a paragraph of instructions.

Would someone clue me in?

Thanks in advance.

Printing problem with page range specified

I have a problem with printing when I want to specify a page range. I am using TestGen v7.4.1 on Windows XP SP2 and trying to print to a pdf printer (pdf995). With every other program except TestGen that I print from (IE, Adobe Reader, Word, etc.) I can specify a page range and that is what's contained in the pdf file.

Using TestGen, if I am printing to my real HP printer and I specify a range of pages, only those pages are printed. If I print using pdf995, the entire document is printed whether I try to shorten it from the back or the front.

Customizing Test Headers

Why not jazz up the headings on your tests and make them look more professional by adding a picture or logo? You can insert a graphic into a test page heading with a simple copy and paste. Align the graphic flush left, centered, or flush right. You can also use the underline or overline style under a right aligned tab to add a horizontal rule below the heading to separate it from the body of the test.

Creating Test Templates

Here are two tips for those who always use the same layout for their tests:

When you make each choice on the Test Options dialogs, click the Set as Default button to save your choices regarding the test heading, use of answer blanks, spacing, and other options. Then each new test you start will start with the same layout and you will only need to tweak it a little to update the test title.
