latest release not working for window 10

TestGen plugin is not working at all for windows 10.

I download the windows installer from here http://wpslive.pearsoncmg.com/cmg_student_testgen_1/. Install looks to go smooth, where it automatically installs to chrome extensions. But when I try to take a test in MyMathLab it prompts me to download the latest version again and resupplies the link I just showed.

Am I doing something wrong?

Also is the installer supposed to give me an option to install to something other than chrome? Because it doesn't.

Thanks in advance for any support

TestGen Forums:

The short answer is after the first failure notification, Hit "Return to Assignments" to dismiss failure notification window and click on your test again. It should work on the second attempt.

The long answer is that there appears to be a bug in Chrome that causes loading difficulties for some 3rd-party plugins. The plugins appear to not load the first time requested. A refresh usually loads the plugin (hence, the advice above). We are looking into workarounds.

The plugin automatically installs into IE, Firefox, and Chrome if they are installed on the computer at the time the installer is launched. Installation into IE and Firefox is silent. Installation into Chrome is not silent due to plugin installation requirements/workarounds forced by Chrome.

Note: The latest version of Firefox (v52) does not run 3rd-party plugins. If you want to use the latest version of Firefox you will need to use the ESR release. Also, for Windows users, you must use the 32-bit version of the ESR release to be compatible with the plugin. Firefox installer links follow:
