Installing Newest TestGen on Mac

It will not allow me to install and run TestGen, the "test box" on the website does not show up. Any suggestions? I am running OSX on a Macbook.

TestGen Forums:

Were you able to run the TestGen Plug-in installation, have it complete, and then launch the"TestGen Plug-in Test Page"? If so, then it sounds like the plug-in was installed correctly.

Most likely the problem is that the TestGen Plug-in is not yet a "Universal Application" and needs to be run under "Rosetta" to function correctly. Learn more about Rosetta. Follow these steps to activate Rosetta for your browser:

  1. Quit your browser.
  2. Locate your browser application on the hard drive (usually in the "Applications" folder).
  3. Right-mouse click on the application and choose "Get Info".
  4. Under the "General" tab, check "Open using Rosetta".
  5. Close the Info window to save your changes.

Now you can try out the TestGen Plug-in Test Page to see if it worked.

You can turn off Rosetta in a similar fashion as noted above. We are currently working on a universal plug-in which will eliminate the need to activate Rosetta.

I have OS 10.6.3 running and after installing both testgen and a font, all while confirming the plugins are positioned correctly. Yet, still i find that the application does not work.

PJ -- We haven't heard back from you to see if this problem has been resolved. If you are still experiencing problems with the TestGen plug-in, we suggest you visit the Pearson Customer Technical Support site: http://247pearsoned.custhelp.com to get more information or initiate a chat session. If the plug-in installs correctly and the test page comes up, the problem might be with the set up of the test file in the course management system, in which case, other students would be having the same problem.
