Install The TestGen Plug-in into Chrome (Windows)
At the time of this post, the TestGen Plug-in installer doesn't provide the option to install into Chrome. This is because the plug-in has not yet been thoroughly tested with Chrome.
However, cursory tests show that Chrome and the plug-in should be compatible. So, if you would like to "push ahead" and install the plug-in into Chrome you may do so one of two ways:
METHOD 1
Chrome and Firefox share plug-ins. If you install the Plug-in into Firefox, Chrome will pick it up. Note: you must keep Firefox installed for this to work.
- Install Firefox.
- Install the TestGen plug-in into Firefox.
- At the end of the installation a test URL will launch to verify that the plug-in works in Firefox. Copy this URL.
- Launch Chrome.
- Paste the copied URL into the browser address field and see if the plug-in verifies.
METHOD 2
Install the plug-in into Firefox or IE, and then manually copy the plug-in files to Chrome.
- Install the TestGen plug-in into Firefox (IE will work too).
- Open up Firefox's "plugins" folder. Typically this is at, C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins.
- Right-click on the Chrome shortcut on your desktop (or in start menu) and view "Properties".
- Click "Find Target" to open the location that Chrome was installed in to.
- If there isn't already a "plugins" folder in Chrome's directory go ahead and create it.
- Copy the following files from Firefox's plugins folder into Chrome's plugins folder:
- Uninstall Firefox if desired.
- Go to the Testgen Plug-in Test Page in chrome:

npTGEQPlugin.dat
nptgeqplugin.dll
