Help!

Need TestGen for Stat final on MyStatLab(Pearson). I downloaded the software and plan to take the exam on Chrome browser. Installed the plug in necessary on Chrome. On a trial test for TestGen it did not detect TestGen, prompts this "Chrome users need to allow the TestGen plug-in by clicking the puzzle piece icon in the address bar and choosing the "Always allow plug-ins" option."- only problem is there is no option to do that at all. Possibly its in the "Options" part of the chrome extension, but it does not allow you to click on that.

TestGen Forums:

Hello,

There is a bug in Chrome that causes plugins to not load the first time displayed/called. You will either get a black box or (in the case of MyMathLab CMS) it will say it isn't loaded. If you get a black box, hit refresh and the plugin will display correctly. If you get a "The plugin isn't installed" from your CMS, dismiss the error and tell it to check again.

I am having the same issue with no success on how to access it. I have uninstalled the plug-in and reinstalled it with no luck. Having the same issue with other browsers and my teacher is of no help to me

Hello Danielle,

Some questions:

1. What CMS are you trying to use? (EG: MyMathLab)

2. What computer system are you using? (EG: Mac OS 10.12, Windows 10)

3. What browser are you using to access the CMS? (EG: Chrome, Firefox, Safari)

Hi, I am having an issue taking an exam on my math lab website, using Chrome. I have tried multiple times now, and all I see is a black box when it does eventually allow me to access it. I tried refreshing the page and yes it does let me go to the exam but no test shows up just a black box. I am using a Windows computer.

Hmmm...the black box issue is expected (see above), but after the refresh on the "check plugin" screen it should work for the rest of the session.

If it is showing another black box for the TestGen test after you've completed the "check plugin" screen, that seems to imply that Chrome is disabling the plugin again. Some things to try:

  1. Go into Chrome extensions/plugin settings and make sure the TestGen plugin is enabled and set to "always enable" if the option exists. (Your description seems to imply that it may be a setting issue in Chrome.)
  2. Verify your Plugin works in Chrome and you are running the latest version (v7.5.3):

Tamarack Plugin Test Page: Hit refresh if you get a black box. It should show you a white box with version information about the plugin you are running.

Tamarack Simple Sample Test Page: Hit refresh if you get a black box. It should show you a simple sample test that you can take and submit.

  3. Try IE or Firefox instead. Notes:

You must use IE 11, not "Edge". The plugin will not install/run in Edge.

The latest version of Firefox (v52 currently) does not run 3rd-party plugins. If you want to use Firefox you will need to use the ESR release. For Windows users, you must use the 32-bit version of the ESR release to be compatible with the plugin. Firefox installer link for v52, ESR, Win(32-bit): Download
